Dear Senator Linda Evans Parlette Thank you for your efforts in gaining Legislation to reopen the Upper Stehekin Valley Road. Please pursue this to a successful Completion. The Stehekin Valley Road is the life blood of the Stehekin Valley. It contains the history of the area from back into the 1800's. It allowed people to use the valley for all type of purposes, which has been reduced to recreation only. Let us not loose this last portion of our history. I lived at Stehekin and worked for the U.S. Forest Service and was assigned to work with and help many of the people developing plans for the area. All thought the road had character and should remain. The whole upper Lake Chelan and Stehekin Valley has been reduced to recreation. It is time consuming and expensive just to get to Stehekin. Lets not penalize these who put out their time and money to visit the area by restricting their use of the valley. Thank you again for your work on this project. Sincerely
